Quest bloggers: Sartorial Sisters’ Trends to Know for SS15

With SS15, officially here, it is time to go shopping for all those must have pieces that you need in order to make sure your wardrobe is Spring/Summer ready. From lots of denims to the ultra minimalist styles, this is your need-to-know guide of our 3 must have trends to take on for SS15.

Deluxe Denim

Breathe in; breathe out this wonderful American Oxygen focus-centric Deluxe Denim theme for SS15! For every fashion need & desire, there is a jean, a jacket, and a skirt or shirt. What makes this trend modern & bold is its wonderful juxtaposition of femininity and the masculinity within its design. We love the slouchy oversized jumpsuits a la Stella McCartney or be daring in head-to-toe blue boiler suit as seen at Chloe. Our favourite style from this trend, have to be everything distressed or mismatched. Our current wish list includes the Rebecca Minkoff’s beautiful dark & distressed jeans overalls as well as Roberto Cavalli’s mix & matched denim high waisted shorts & matching blouse, which has to be the new definition of flawlessness. We seriously adore the whole look, so it can’t be wrong to buy the accessories as well, right?

Bohemian Princess

Welcome back to the seventies, as Coachella may be over but that 70’s boho chic is here to stay for all of SS15. Go for the Pocahontas chic style, as seen at Etro, with native stitching and beads. Or think all white in pure lace like Roberto Cavalli for a more ultra feminine yet hippy chic, bohemian look. This 70’s take, embraces deluxe denim (see above), sheer chiffon layers, and delicate laces that has a moody romantic vibe that makes us yearn for more. We love all the feminine layers teamed with mosaic-like tile prints, lace and crochet that will bring a Liassez Faire feel to your wardrobe. We are taking note from Givenchy, with the flirty and modish mini peasant dress combined with dark thigh boots that create a funky chic vibe that is ideal for SS15. However, we have completely fallen hard for Alberta Ferretti’s beautiful flower child collection. Our favorite look from the collection had to be the luggage colored midi dress with flower embellishments and fringe detailing. The standout piece from this collection had to be the knee-high leather strapped gladiator fringed sandals, which made the whole ensemble unforgettable. Definitely on our purchase list!

Au Naturale

Its time to embrace your mother natural side as brands such as Sally Lapointe, Christian Wijnants, & Nicholas K have dictated that this SS15 is taking on lots of earthy hues, organic materials, & loose drapes that are timeless & beautiful trends. Think lots of barely-there chiffons, luscious silks, & frayed asymmetric hems. We love it all, the combinations of the oversized style with the effortlessly chic vibe that makes us want to wear this trend forever. Our favourites take on tis trend has to be Richard Nicoll SS15 collection. This Au Naturale trend & collection is the definition of perfection with it use of slouchy jersey, draped knits, loose silks, satins & sleeveless vests that is perfect to take from day to night.
